El ministerio del tiempo: Capítulo 2

Lope de Vega, the famous Spanish Golden Age poet and playwright, enlisted in the “Invincible Armada” of Spain in 1588. The Armada was repulsed by the English, but fortunately for history, and for literature, his ship was not among those which was sunk by the English or in the subsequent severe storm—or so the history we know tells us. The Ministerio del tiempo discovers that someone has meddled with time, and Lope de Vega’s name now appears on the manifest of one of the ships that will be lost, so the team must travel to Lisbon to correct history again.

For Amelia, this is an opportunity to meet the author she most admires. For Alonso, it’s an opportunity to meet the son he never knew, but this very act puts history at risk. And for Julián, this mission proves to him that life and his part in it, may in fact have meaning after all.
